XR0Y QSL STATUS
Thursday, 16.09.2010 · 05:56 UTC

Dear OM/YL,

You are receiving this group email as you have sent an inquiry either about the current status of XR0Y QSLs or asking about a missing card.
Since we’ve been using 2 different QSL routes depending on your location, some confusion occurred, which we’d like to clarify.

According to an agreement with Radio Club de Chile – our main Chilean supporter during the 2009 XR0Y expedition, we have split QSL route as follows:

DIRECT and BUREAU QSL requests from North/Central and South America: responsible entity – Radio Club de Chile – http://www.ce3aa.cl/

DIRECT, BUREAU AND OQRS requests from Europe/Asia/Africa/Oceania inc. VK/ZL: Stan SQ8X – http://www.qrz.com/db/sq8x

We have received reports from a number of American stations that there was or is a delay with QSLs coming from Radio Club de Chile. This situation requires an explanation.

We are sure you have read news about the disastrous earthquake that hit Chile in last February. Radio Club de Chile has been involved in numerous actions supporting relief work since then. Chilean ham operators have often been the only telecommunication linkage to the world for many villages in the country. Due to those extraordinary circumstances the QSL-ing process has been delayed. According to information received from RCCh’s President – Dr. Galdino Besomi – QSLing had been resumed with the goal to process the backlog of card by the end of July.

If you are North/Central or South America’s resident and still waiting for a reply to your direct or bureau QSL sent to RCCh, don’t hesitate to contact them by dropping an email to this address: secretaria@ce3aa.cl asking for your QSL status.

If you are located in Europe/Asia/Africa/Oceania inc. VK/ZL and still waiting for your card sent direct, via OQRS or bureau, don’t wait and send your email to: Stan SQ8X stan.sq8x@gmail.com with all details regarding your QSO and request you’ve sent. Currently he is finishing processing cards/OQRS requests received from Europe/Asia/Africa/Oceania in August. All requests received before August has already been replied. Nevertheless, if you are sure your request has been received before August, and still waiting for your card, contact us immediately.

In addition, Stan SQ8X also declares, all requests sent to him from North/Central or South America will be processed without any problem.
